Brazil — Concept Stage

Brazil — a national network to the MMC standard.

9 national corridors linking 26 cities, about 13,900 km measured city to city in straight lines (about 16,700 km built, at a route factor of 1.2), with 6 cross-border links. From the Uruguayan border to the mouth of the Amazon, and inland to Brasília, Manaus and the Bolivian border.

The national corridors.

Each corridor is listed below in order of its cities.

MMC Brazil network concept, schematic. Dark lines are national corridors; grey lines are neighbouring national corridors; gold lines are cross-border links; the wide gold band marks the spines. Routes are indicative.

Routes are indicative. Corridors are drawn city to city, through the cities on the existing railway wherever a line exists: MMC corridors follow those lines, upgrading the line or running above it on viaduct. Where no line exists, the corridor is new build. Final alignments are set at detailed design by terrain survey, geotechnical analysis, environmental and cultural heritage assessment, and agreement between the nations they connect.

To initiate the programme in Brazil.

The MMC platform is available to any nation building to the standard. If your government, agency, or capital partner could initiate a project in Brazil: Make contact.
